Who are they?
Heed Audio are based in Budapest, Hungary. The original company, Zsolt Audio was founded back in 1987 by an enthusiastic graduate audio engineer, Zsolt Huszti when Hungary was still under a Communist government. At that time Zsolt Audio was the importer into Hungary for a range of well regarded hi-fi products including Ion Systems. During this period, Zsolt spent time in the UK working with many of the manufacturers, gaining practical experience in designing and building both loudspeakers and electronics.
In the early 1990’s Zsolt started to build a number of the British products under license in Budapest - most notably Ion Systems range of Obelisk amplifiers. Zsolt was particularly taken with Ion Systems’ design ethos, and, rising from Ion’s ashes, Heed Audio has evolved those approaches and ideas. Today Heed Audio has it’s own range of Obelisk products, which embody everything that Ion Systems set out many years ago, a focus on musical performance and engagement, delivered at real world prices.
